Sarum is one of the ever-growing cohort of village students that PLF has been able to support since transitioning the Srayang dorm into a learning center back in 2020. Unlike Sareng and the early pioneers coming out of the village primaries, he has not had to leave home in order to continue school. Our huge trucks trundle through the villages every morning to bring Sarum and his friends to Srayang where they can attend government school in the morning, and our learning center for lunch and extra curricular activities that round out the day.
This evolution of our Srayang project means that kids are getting to stay at home with their families where they belong. And enables us to serve more than 5 times as many students per year as when it was a dorm – ensuring more students can access the transformative opportunities that education brings.
