Grade eight students from The Ponheary Ly Foundation media program had a great day at Kompong Khleang fishing village, documenting a very different way of life from their own.
None of the students had visited the area before and they were amazed at what they saw. We took a boat out on to Tonlé Sap – another first.
After all their hard work it was back to town for their lunch choice, KFC – yet another first. Then on to Lucky Mall for ice-cream – that’s right, one more first.
On taking their work back to the classroom the students will spend this week fine-tuning their work through lessons in editing.
The another first for these students will be seeing their work up on display in a public exhibition. PLF will bring the students into town to experience the opening day of the exhibit in a local art space and their creations will stay up on display for a week.
Call in to see the work of the students and through fresh eyes, the everyday life of the lake villages.
Exhibit details:
Pages Cafe, Street 24, Wat Bo, Siem Reap
From 1.30pm, Saturday 20th February – Saturday 27th February
