Koh Ker Village's First Secondary School Graduate

Last week, PLF went to Koh Ker to host a lunch for the primary school students. That day, we also held a small ceremony for Saren, our first graduate from the Srayang dormitory. By finishing grade 9, Saren is the first person from Koh Ker village to finish secondary school, a tremendous achievement for not only her, but for her parents, who themselves are not educated, and thus see little value in an education.

STUDENT BLOG: Media Class Visits ASEAN BlogFest 2012

On Sunday 4th November 2012, my media class went to the ASEAN BlogFest2012 conference at Build Bright University in Siem Reap. There are six students in my class and our ages range from 16 to 18. The BlogFest ran from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Teacher Diana Gross had arranged for us to leave from the Seven Candles guesthouse by bus at 8:30am. To get to the guesthouse, I had to get up at six o’clock and ride my bike for 1 hour.
