When Vannak was young her father told her, “I know that you really wanted to go back to school, but we are far, so we can not. Maybe in the next life you will be born in the town.”
Beatrice came to Asia for the first time this past year to volunteer with PLF. Here’s what she had to say about her volunteer experience!
Year on year our University scholarship program continues to grow. This is testament to the success of our high school and early years programs. This year PLF took on twenty new University students and placed two more students in Vocational training school. The majority of these students will attend the top Universities in the country in the capital, Phnom Penh.
“This summer my sister and I volunteered again for the Ponheary Ly Foundation. This marks our 4th summer as volunteers, something that our family has been doing for the last 10 years. This summer we wanted to continue some of the teaching we had begun over the last few summers and also try some new ideas!”
The forest is the location for small trees and all kinds of animals where they live together. It is the natural resource of design to do everything. We should take care of all these resources, which we already have because it is very important for young generation and for our country future also.
Among the region of Southeast Asia, Cambodia is one of the countries that is most vulnerable to climate change. Countries are affected by climate change because people do not understand the benefit of nature: land, forests, water resources, and fisheries, for example.
Dignity is the best advantage of people and something we always wish and want. The people who have dignity with themselves commit good deeds including good culture, righteousness, kindness, do not harm other people, being tolerant to each other, and especially have human culture and virtuous jobs. Dignity belongs to people who have an honest heart, are trustful, respect justice and rules. People who have ethics refers to people who have good behavior, help others, respect the rules, and live safe together.

We are beyond excited to announce that our fearless leader, Ponheary Ly, has won this year’s award in the field of education! Recognized as the “Nobel Prize for Child Advocates,” honorees will receive a grant to help their program grow and ultimately impact the lives of even more children.
