A brief report, following up on February’s post about the progress of the construction effort at Sryang, where an additional 15 students will arrive from Koh Ker School this October to start Secondary School.

We’re doing well on the budget for the house which is extraordinary since there are so many variable involved in this type of construction in such a remote area. There have been many challenges, beginning with having to literally go into the forest and cut trees to get lumber, down to dealing with the lack of electricity at the site and the weather, which has brought us unusually large amounts of rain in the dry season. We hope to have the house built by July when school is finished so the new students can move in over the summer and begin English tutoring as well as adjust to the new environment before school starts. Stay tuned for updates~!
